About

Quiet UK is coming soon

Hi, and welcome to Quiet UK. We’re here to help you find quiet in a noisy world.

In 2016 I developed tinnitus following a period of extreme stress. Over the next couple of years health issues, deaths in the family and work stress consumed my life, accompanied by an unwanted soundtrack whining away in my left ear. Of course I googled it and ended up assuming it was something nasty. But an MRI, hearing checks and a supportive audiology department led to a diagnosis of tinnitus and discovering my amazing hearing therapist.

Now, I treat my tinnitus as a barometer. If I can hear it – I’m stressed and need to take some time out. My tinnitus is unlikely to go away but I’ve learned various coping techniques, which I will share with you.

As part of this journey I’ve become more aware of the sounds around us, both the good and the bad. Everyday we are bombarded by sounds that can damage our health while the natural sounds of a millenia are silenced.

My goal for Quiet UK is to help silence the noise that is hurting us and nature while rediscovering the natural sounds that can help us and the planet heal.

We will also offer hope and support to people with hearing issues and sound sensitivities, building a community who understand the challenges of living on a noisy planet.

Thanks for visiting us.
